ESTIMATOR for Alamo Iron Works
To perform complete project estimates for all typical structural steel elements. Estimates include all labor, materials, equipment, buyouts, supervision, general conditions and OH/Profit for a complete package.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Perform detailed quantity take-off of structural and miscellaneous steel from design drawings.
- Solicit subcontractors and/or vendors for pricing of subcontract work and buy-out items
- Utilize estimating software program to generate costs of fabricated items.
- Provide detailed listing of inclusions and exclusions, both general specific for each estimate.
- Review project schedule for understanding of possible schedule impacts to cost of work
- Analyze and include cost of indirect times required to complete the project.
- Prepare handoff documentation and assist project managers through turnover
- Provide follow-up with the customer post-bid
- Maintain quote log for estimate capture rates.

Alamo Iron Works is a 135 year old San Antonio Company searching for an Outside Salesperson to join our team calling on General Contractors and Subcontractors in the San Antonio area. Even though our middle name is Iron, the main focus for this position is selling Industrial Supplies and Construction related supplies and tools, such as safety products, ladders, material handling equipment, tools, caulk, welding supplies, etc. Candidate should have prior sales experience calling on Contractors.

· Safety Manager with 5+ years of commercial construction experience on projects in excess of $50 million within the last 3 years. Your project list should include the following markets: Health-care, Aviation, and/or Infrastructure Improvements.
· Quality Control Manager with 5+ years of commercial construction experience on projects in excess of $50 million within the last 3 years. Your project list should include the following markets: Health-care, Aviation, and/or Infrastructure Improvements.
· Project Manager with 8+ years of commercial construction experience on projects in excess of $50 million within the last 5 years. Your project list should include the following markets: Health-care, Aviation, and/or Infrastructure Improvements. Strong computer skills are required.
· MEP Coordinator with 5+ years of commercial construction experience on projects in excess of $50 million within the last 3 years. Your project list should include the following markets: Health-care (preferred), Aviation, and/or Infrastructure Improvements.
All candidates must have the following qualifications, at a minimum:
· Must have excellent communication skills;
· Must be able to work in a team environment, and;
· Must have a successful track record of completing large commercial projects.
