Open enrollment is currently underway. If you are interested in a construction career then we encourage you to apply from June 1, 2008 through July 31, 2008, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the ABC - South Texas Chapter Office.

Applicants are required at the time of application:

• To be 18 years or older
• Bring a valid Texas drivers license
• Bring a High school or G.E.D. transcript

Apprenticeship training requires an applicant to work for a sponsor employer in their desired trade in order to obtain the Department of Labor required 8,000 on-the-job training hours. The ABC - South Texas Chapter is not an employment agency. Obtaining a sponsor employer is the responsibility of the apprentice applicant. However, the education staff will be happy to assist applicants with any available job leads.

Sponsor employers can be ABC - South Texas Members or Non-members. If you already have a sponsor employer, please bring a statement on company letterhead providing permission for you to attend the apprenticeship program. All applicants must obtain a sponsor employer by September 1, 2008.
