BRAC San Antonio Construction Program Presentation
Wondering about the BRAC San Antonio Construction Program? Randy Holoman with the Corps of Engineers will hold a presentation starting at 6:30 pm at The Burgers and Beer Mixer on June 17, 2009. Open Enrollment
Begins June 1, 2009 and ends August 31, 2009
The South Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors will begin the enrollment process for new apprentices June 1, 2009. The enrollment process consists of several steps in order to satisfy the Department of Labor and the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training regulations. We are again excited to offer comprehensive training programs in Carpentry, Electrical, Sheet Metal, and Plumbing for the 2009-2010 school year.
Applicants need to provide the mandated information requested below. We must receive each applicant’s complete information to process them into the program prior to classes beginning in early September 2009.
Applicants may contact the ABC - South Texas Chapter office to schedule an appointment to complete the application forms and to take the required testing. Application and testing will be approximately two (2) hours. Therefore all applicants must be in the office prior to 3:00 pm. Contact the Workforce Development Staff by email or call the office at (210) 342-1994. We are opened from 8-5 daily.

Once, again the the ABC - South Texas Chapter held a happy hour for prospective members to learn what ABC is and what it can do for them on May 28th at the chapter offices. Thank you membership for encouraging prospective companies to attend and to all of those who were interested in our association services for attending. Green Building: Your Role In The Green EnvironmentABC - South Texas Chapter OfficesSan Antonio, Texas
The ABC - South Texas Chapter is now authorized through the National Center for Construction Education and Research to teach the primer course for LEED certification: Your Role in the Green Environment. This class is not just about sitting in a class. Each attendee willl be required to take a final exam and pass with 70% or better in order to be submitted for an NCCER transcript, certificate and Virtual Wallet Card. Whether you work on a jobsite or just in the office this class will introduce you to the future of the construction industry "Green Building".
