Enrollment for the ABC South Texas Apprenticeship Program is open from March 1st through June 30th. Our program is accepting applications currently for all four trades:
carpentry, electrical, plumbing and sheet metal.
Regardless of trade, the application process is the same. Once your application
has been approved by our Apprenticeship Committee, you will be placed in the
apprenticeship program applicant pool for up to two years. The applicant pool
list is sent to companies interested in sponsoring apprentices. You must
maintain updated contact information to remain in the pool. All applicant’s
should realize in the construction industry you must travel wherever the
job-site is; sometimes it is just down the road from your house but other times
it may be out-of-town. The construction industry isn’t always 8 am to 5 pm,
Monday thru Friday. Sometimes early morning and late night shifts are required

- 18 years or older
- High school transcript or GED
- U.S. state driver’s license or ID
Addition Qualifications per the Texas Workforce Commission and Local Education Agency Policy in order to attend school:
- Verify your eligibility to work
- Present a Selective Service registration verification print out*
All males must provide proof of Selective Service Registration from age 18 to 26. Verify Registration Now

Application and Enrollment Process
You will need to successfully complete the following steps:
- Selective Service Verification
- Written exam (Consultation Only)
- Obtain a sponsor employer to start school
- Attend Orientation
